This CD is excellent.

Brass Mounted Army presents twenty six martial tunes performed by the California Gold Rush band. The arrangements are superb, their execution is flawless. Of the martial music performances I've heard, either live or recorded, nothing surpasses this one in this category.

Listening to it somehow has a real effect on a person, it is like being on the parade gound on a frontier post. The performances both take you back, but are fresh at the same time. It is simply a great CD.

Frankly, whether you are a participant in living history, or a student of Army history, this CD is really indispensable. It is the audio equivalent, in its own way, "Forty Miles A Day On Beans And Hay", or the Steffen's books on military tack and uniforms.

Somebody emailed me the other day and asked where they could get this CD. You can get it from the Cav Museum store at Ft. Riley, KS. I don't have a phone number or address for them, but the Cavalry Association, which runs the store, would no doubt have that information.

May I add my endorsement to Pat’s review of <u>Brass Mounted Army</u>. I purchased the CD while at Fort Riley and have found it to be excellent in it’s execution. It is worth the purchase price and more. It also contains what I believe to be the world’s finest rendition of “Dixie”. Amen.
